Cllr Rickman declared an interest in the payment of accounts.

Approval of Minutes of last meeting on 13.03.2007.

Proposed Cllr Whitney seconded Cllr Bingham carried.

Matters arising from the Minutes of 13.02.07.

Adoption of Cemetery Committee Minutes of 27th February 2007 – Proposed Cllr Rickman seconded Cllr Bingham and carried.

Public Forum.

CCTV Cameras – presentation from Frank  Cannon from Huntingdon District Council

The installation of CCTV cameras is being backed by Claudia Walters of Huntingdon District Council and the Police. Consultation has taken place with the shopping centre owners for the installation of 2 to 3 cameras. The idea of a 4th camera to be placed in the Amenity Centre car park was discussed with the Council.

The camera would be installed by Huntingdon District Council and would be monitored at their centre in Huntingdon 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Council is being asked to pay for the maintenance costs of the camera.

Frank Cannon was asked to provide detailed figures to enable the Council to discuss and decide on the feasibility of funding a CCTV camera.

Correspondence

a) Letter from Cambridgeshire County Council – Summer Reading Challenge 2007 – request for donation – proposed Cllr Cork seconded Cllr Cooper and carried that a donation of £150 be given.

b) Letter from Veolia Environmental Services – increase in landfill tax – noted.

c) Letter from Cambridgeshire County Council – Emergency Planning for Pandemic Flu – The Clerk is to write to Peterborough City Council to reiterate the need for additional land for a cemetery extension.

d) Letter from RB Organic – allotment security - Clerk to write and thank them for their offer, but to also ask for details of our liability.

e) Letter from residents in Blenheim Way and Mountbatten Way – Park benches – Proposed Cllr Cork, seconded Cllr Thorne and carried that the bench should remain removed for the time being and that the matter be referred to the Allotments and Byways Committee.

Adoption of F & GP Committee Minutes of 20.032007.

Proposed Cllr Rickman seconded Cllr Cork carried.

Matters Arising from the F & GP Minutes – insurance

Cllr Youles explaining the reasons for the investigation into our insurance needs. There are areas of insurance that we simply do not need. Cllr Youles was asked to continue his investigations and to report back at the next full Council meeting so that we are in time to review our insurance before the renewal date of the 1st June 2007.

Park Close – update

A meeting took place on the 21st March 2007. There are some positive moves being made. The Parish Council have been asked to write to the planning department at Huntingdon District Council to highlight the value of the land in question to the village and the possible extension to the medical centre.  This matter is to be put on the agenda for the next full council meeting.

Newsletter

The next newsletter should contain details of the new council members with a brief history, the Chairman’s Annual report and budget for 2007/08.

Report from representatives:

Ferndale – We still have a problem with the aesthetics of the building and Cllr Watt and Cllr Banerjee are going to arrange a meeting with the planning department to iron out the problems so that the build can begin. Cllr Thorne would keep the Council informed.

Website – 2350 visit for last month. One of the best ever hits in a month.
