Cllrs Youles, Thorne, Lucas, Butcher, Goddard, Oliver, Rickman, McMullan, Metcalfe, Richardson and Rees. Also present was the Clerk Mrs Tibble.

Nick Ball from Cambridgeshire ACRE address to the Council

The main points were:-

1. At least 2 Parish Councillors would be needed to guide, support and steer the group which would include 10 members from the wider community.

2. A grant would be provided by ACRE in the sum of £1,500 to assist with the advertising and development of the Parish Plan.

3. Ask Sawtry Parish Council if a member of their Council could come over and let us know the advantages of the Parish Plan and give advice.

4. Various ways to collect data. An analysis company would produce the results from any survey.

b) Letter from Shailesh Vara MP – The Clerk is to respond to Vara and inform him that we were under the opinion that the matter had been resolved – proposed Cllr Goddard seconded Cllr Butcher and carried.

c) Letter from Marc Humphries – possible co-option onto Council – Proposed that he be co-opted Cllr Goodard seconded Cllr Rees and carried.

Cllr Thorne would like another possible pathway added to the application in that the cycle path needs to be continued along London Road from the Ferndale entrance to the start of the Peterborough path further down London Road. This is a cycle path used by village children to get to the new Hampton Senior School proposed Cllr Lucas seconded Cllr Rees and carried. Minutes proposed Cllr Lucas seconded Cllr Rees.

Proposed Cllr Lucas seconded Cllr Metcalfe. Two Councillors are against the adoption Cllr Thorne and Cllr Butcher.

Footpath Queen Street access to Rainbow

Clerk to write to Cambridgeshire County Council and ask what  proposals have been put forward. Proposed Cllr McMullan seconded Cllr Richardson.

Street Names – differences in spelling of two street names

Cllr McMullan will write to Huntingdon District Council regarding the different spellings of Landsdowne Road and Abbott Way.

Survey into the use of Landsdowne Road

Write to the Highways Department and request a No Access sign for 7.5 tonnes to be placed at the top and bottom of Landsdowne Road. Proposed Cllr Rickman seconded Cllr Oliver.

Community Information Surgery Notes

Cllr McMullan noted that the notice board in the community shop was out of date. The Clerk will try to make time to update the board. Cllr McMullan volunteered to update the information if the Clerk provides it.

Cllr Richardson to attend the next meeting on Friday 3rd August.2007.

STAFF MATTERS

 

1,         Working party reporting to Council. – Discussion took place

 

2.         Sue Marchant – Sue has been harassed by members of the public and has therefore been off sick. Emergency measures were taken. John Preston was asked to work 2 to 10pm to assist with the evening cover. Security companies had been contacted but they did not want a short term contract. Actions taken proposed Cllr Goddard seconded Cllr Thorne.
