Matters arising from Minutes of 10.07.07

Cllr McMullan reporting back with regard to the two spellings for Landsdowne Road. He had made enquiries with Huntingdon District Council who had gone back on their original plans. Cllr McMullan has devised a questionnaire for the residents of Landsdowne Road and would post them out and wait for a response. He would report back to Council.

a) Letter from Yaxley Library – Big Wild Read – Cllr Youles will attend.  Library has expressed their thanks

b) Letter from Huntingdon District Council – New Model Code of Conduct – Clerk will let Councillors know of next available date for course.

c) Letter from Cambridgeshire association of Local Councils – Professional Development Course – All new Councillors would like to go onto the first course. The Clerk would book them on.

d) Letter from M Watson – Ferndale Field – respond to Mr Watson and let him know of the council’s proposals for Ferndale.

e) Letter from Cambridgeshire County Council – Parking Policies – Clerk to place on the Allotment and Byways agenda.

Adoption of Playing Field Committee Minutes of 24.06.07

With the removal of the prices set for the hire of the recreational field football pitches the minutes are approved. Proposed Cllr Rickman seconded Cllr Metcalfe. A meeting would be set with Ferndale Committee to discuss pricing for pitches.

Public Forum

Gary Warman and Peter Burgess made representation with regard to pricing for the hire of pitches. A representative would attend the Ferndale meeting where the pricing will be discussed.

Sean McMullan addressed the council with regard to the Cricket festival. He asked for a donation from the Council for the purchase of medals. £100 proposed by Cllr Rees seconded Cllr Metcalfe.

Reserves

The matter of reserves was explained to Councillors together with documentation and recommendations given to us by CALC.  Copies of Minutes from a previous meeting were issued to highlight our agreement to reserves.

Parish Plan

The Clerk will continue forward with the Parish Plan and ask a representative from Sawtry to attend one of our meetings to give us an ideal of the experience they had with setting up a Parish plan. The Clerk will also contact ACRE and apply for the grant.
